By denying yourself of what you do not need, so you can give to others who are in great need, you will be loving God through loving your neighbor, since Christ lives in all, making a selfless sacrifice just like Jesus.
Instead of storing up for yourself treasures on earth, you can live God’s Word, and store up for yourself treasures in Heaven by multiplying good fruits of sacrificial giving to others from what God has given to you.
By sacrificing your time that you would have spent doing things to benefit yourself, you can spend your time planning, orchestrating, and fulfilling fundraising programs with your church, school, work, and neighbors, to benefit those in extreme physical and/or spiritual poverty.
You can volunteer your skills and talents, not for self-benefit, but to benefit Christ (love God), who resides in others and His creatures. This selfless act will allow God to work through you in remarkable ways, doing His will, for the ultimate goal of the salvation of souls.
God has not asked us to love Him some of the time, but all of the time. This is the way to true happiness. Therefore, you are called to do EVERYTHING (every thought, word and action) according to His will, doing nothing of what you desire to love yourself, but all seeking what is best for the earthly and eternal life of your neighbor.
I want to give my all today.
